About Our Branch
The Huntingdon Branch was formed on Saint George's Day in 2004 to promote the key objectives of the Royal Society of Saint George in fostering a love of England, its history and traditions. To keep fresh the memory of those who serve or have served England, their achievements in social history and the arts and to encourage the celebration of Saint George's Day wherever those with a love for England Gather.
The Branch regularly meet socially throughout the year and are pleased to welcome members and their guests to all our events.
Events for 2019 are as follows:
11th March - Huntingdon Branch AGM.
23rd April - Celebration of Saint George's Day - Church Service followed by a four-course dinner in the Assembly Room, Huntingdon Town Hall.
29th June - Summer Reception held in the historic and beautiful building and gardens of The Palace of Buckden, Buckden Towers. Catherine of Aragon was sent to live at the Palace between 1533 until 1534 on the orders of Henry VIII and he visited the palace with his fifth wife Catherine Howard in 1541. Music by Waterbeach Brass Band and the Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force Corps of Drums.
19th October - Trafalgar Day Dinner held in the Assembly Room, Huntingdon Town Hall.
We also hope to arrange some additional events in 2019 to recognise this special 125th Anniversary of the Royal Society of St. George.
