The Bangkok St. George’s Society was founded 54 years ago and is affiliated to the Royal Society of St. George whose Patron is Her Majesty the Queen. We provide a social group and meeting place in which members of the English expat community can welcome new arrivals to Bangkok, make new friends and catch up with old ones and above all, be proud to be English.
The emphasis of the Society is on meeting new people at fun events that bring English people of all ages and backgrounds together and we are happy to include anyone with an affiliation to, or appreciation of, England. We also support, socialize and meet regularly with members of the other Loyal Societies - St. Patrick’s, St. Andrew’s and St. David’s.
The Society has contributed heavily to a variety of charitable causes over the years through the generosity of its loyal membership, and in the past year we have been particularly pleased to support the Gift of Happiness Foundation which cares for street children and abandoned children in Mae Sot in Northern Thailand. We also contributed via the Red Cross, to the Nepalese Earthquake Fund set up following the devastating earthquake on 25th April, 2015 (the day of our Ball as it happens).
